Blackton Grange
is a large, traditional, stone-built
farmhouse nestling within an 11 acre
hillside estate in the North Pennines
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,
between the picturesque Towns of
Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard
Castle. The property retains all the
charm and atmosphere of a Pennine
farmstead, but offers modern facilities
to make your stay as comfortable and
relaxing as possible. The spacious and
well-equipped farmhouse is a real
home-from-home for families and friends,
giving guests the freedom to explore the
stunning scenery and escape the hustle

With flexible accommodation, the
farmhouse comfortably sleeps up to
40
people in 10 bedrooms, but
importantly has generous indoor and
outdoor
living areas that provide the ideal
space for guests of all ages –
whether
you want to relax in the large
lounge with its roaring log fire,
satellite TV
and comfortable sofas, or venture
into the paddock for picnics, ball
games
and flying kites. Also on the
doorstep is a range of activities
for the more
adventurous in your party - walking,
cycling, abseiling, kayaking and
family
treasure-hunt challenges can all be
arranged in advance of your visit.
The kitchen and dining room at
Blackton Grange is ideal for large
parties
and has everything you need to make
catering for the whole family as
easy
as possible, and the BBQ area
provides spectacular alfresco
dining.
Within 10 miles there is the
spectacular High Force falls walk,
Middleton-in-Teesdale for delicious
cream teas, the family-friendly pub
at Cotherstone
and the Bowes Museum and Thorpe Farm
Centre in Barnard Castle. Further
afield you can explore the medieval
town of Richmond, Durham Cathedral,
Beamish Open Air Museum and the
National Railway Museum at Skildon. |
